A brisk comedy about two unlucky souls and the whims of fate - but with a surprisingly promising ending.

Jane and Mike are two lifelong losers who have been left on the shelf. Mike is a divorced travelling salesman and father of a twelve-year-old son, while Jane is a single mother of two-and-a-half-year-old Lucy. They meet one morning in Mike's flat, where Jane has arrived as a chance acquaintance of his flatmate Ted - just as Mike unexpectedly returns from a business trip.

Both have made similar mistakes with unpleasant consequences, so they understand each other almost from the start - their mutual sympathy and empathy grow by the minute. The resolution is surprising and unexpected.
