Beyond the monumental Trinity columns, we find numerous pillars and shrines along village roads and smaller town squares. This specific type of small sacred architecture and free-standing sculpture flourished particularly in the 18th and 19th centuries and features a standardized composition.

About the venue: Zábřeh Museum

Muzeum Zábřeh occupies the Renaissance house Pod Podloubím, considered one of the finest surviving examples of a burgher house in northern Moravia. The mazhaus-type building with Gothic cellars was remodelled in the second half of the 16th century, when its tower and arcade were added. Run by the Regional Museum in Šumperk, it holds a permanent exhibition on the history of the Zábřeh area, a dedicated section on local-born explorer Jan Eskymo Welzl, and collections ranging from Václav Hollar prints to folk paintings on glass.
