THE INFERNAL FAIRY TALE or Where the Devil Cannot Go
Once upon a time there was a baker named Vojta Rohlíček - a real softie who would let anyone chop his firewood. He slept by day and baked by night, and from his human loneliness he grew so grumpy that he began to curse, swear, and damn even his "noble" craft. His curses, like those of all people, are collected and weighed by little devils, so that when enough sins accumulate, they can carry the sinner off to hell.
The sheer number of sins uttered shocks even the baker himself, and he swears he will never curse again. But hell is not pleased. An enraged Lucifer sends the devil-girl Lucienda to the bakery to tempt the baker into sin. Yet the infernal caresses that send her into the world, and the human affection she receives among people, turn the little devil's head - and along with her, they disrupt the peaceful life of baker Vojta, even shaking the very foundations of hell itself.
What will Lucienda do when she receives the most precious thing Vojta keeps in memory of his mother? What happens when a human heart begins to beat in her chest? And how will Vojta behave when he discovers that his beloved is a messenger of hell, seeking his soul? These and other questions are answered by a comic yet instructive fairy tale, faithful to the traditions of our ancestors.
The visual richness and emotional atmosphere are enhanced by half-masks, elaborate "cinematic" costumes of infernal creatures, and puppets carved from linden wood - rod puppets and marionettes at least 70 cm tall. Every puppet on stage is always accompanied by an actor.
