Orion (Album Release)

Orion celebrates his fiftieth birthday with a solo album "Je Miky Vorel". The album release party takes place on November 13 in Brno.

Orion is best known as a rapper and member of PSH. On his new album, he ventures beyond his established territory. He moves from hip-hop to reggae, through jazz-tinged material to electronic sounds, rapping and singing, switching between Czech and Slovak to English. Production duties are shared equally between DJ Cut Dem and Tomáš Konůpka, with whom Orion previously collaborated on the Gruppo Salsiccia project. The ten tracks feature guests including Lesík Hajdovský from the band Manželé, Vladimir 518 from PSH, Pain, Eurodel from Pio Squad, and Dr. Kary.

The genre-diverse album "Je Miky Vorel" finds joy in the everyday and bridges past with present. Orion returns to the themes, people, and places that shaped his musical journey, yet isn't afraid to break from the beaten path. Alongside rap, the record features reggae, singing, minimalist electronics, eighties-style production, and English-language rap. What ties them together is the distinctive voice of someone who, after decades on stage, refuses to repeat himself.

In the past, Orion performed under names like Papa Ori, Mitch Bjukenen, Mr Jackson, Rumburak, and Miki Red Head. Now he is Miky Vorel.
