Garáž Gallery, Zlín

exhibition culture

The exhibition explores painting that is no longer an image separated from its surroundings. Colored layers of paper saturated with epoxy resin merge with undulating polycarbonate surfaces, creating a permeable boundary between the image and its environment.

About the venue: Garáž Gallery

Galerie Garáž (GAG) opened in October 2012 - Vojtěch Skácel, Helena Ťapajnová and Filip Kartousek set it up literally inside a garage in Zlín's Burešov district. Rather than a conventional exhibition space, it functions as an artistic project built around one-off events called ČINy - vernissages combined with performance, happening or video art. GAG is the only independent gallery in Zlín and also produces posters and mini-catalogues. It opens by arrangement or during events.
