Through the Canadian Wilderness — Expedition Club, Brno

A lecture spanning 10 years of expeditions into the Rocky Mountains. You'll see not only the famous Moraine Lake, but especially remote places where you rarely encounter people: Paradise Valley, Pinto Lake, Iceline Trail, and treks in the Lake O'Hara area. The talk covers close encounters with bears and how to handle them on trails. The 50 km Berg Lake Trail to Mt. Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, will feature prominently. The journey concludes at the sacred Buffalo Jump site in southern Alberta, visiting the Blackfoot people.

The presentation covers national parks including Banff, Jasper, Glacier, Yoho, and Waterton Lakes - accompanied by photographs, videos, and travel stories.

Large-format photographs from Canada and the Jeseníky Mountains, Indigenous crafts, and wilderness trophies will be on display. Presented by Ondra Bačík.
