Description was written before the event

The first October concert and the opening event of the subscription series at Rudolfinum features Holst's Planets.

This monumental orchestral suite journeys through the cosmos from the martial Mars through the lyrical Venus to the mysterious Neptune. The orchestra will be conducted by Jan Kučera.

About the venue: Rudolfinum

The Rudolfinum is a neo-Renaissance cultural monument on Alšovo nábřeží in Prague 1, built between 1876 and 1884 by architects Josef Zítek and Josef Schulz. Since 1992 it has been the home of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, whose main stages are Dvořák Hall and Suk Hall. The building also houses Galerie Rudolfinum, focused on contemporary art, and serves as the centre of the Prague Spring and Dvořák Praha festivals.
