Věra Jirousová (née Vařilová)

A theatrical production about one of the most remarkable figures of the Czech underground - a poet, art historian, dissident, and Charter 77 signatory. A woman who stood alongside Ivan "Magor" Jirouse and Jiří Němec, but above all sought her own voice during the era of totalitarian rule.
The creators draw from her early diaries (Tweety 1956-1963), personal correspondence, and previously unprocessed archives, as well as memories and accounts from her son Tobiáš Jirouse. The production examines one life through two childhood perspectives - first through the eyes of a girl growing up in the 1950s, then through the perspective of her son, who shared her complex and intense world.
