About the venue: Municipal Theatre

Městské divadlo (City Theatre) Znojmo is a historic theatre building on náměstí Republiky, opened in 1900 to a design by architect Alexander Graf. Its pseudo-Renaissance exterior echoes the Vienna Jubilee Theatre (today's Volksoper), while the neo-Rococo interior features gilded stucco, velvet upholstery and a painted curtain titled "At the Source of Poetry". With a capacity of 278 seats, the venue hosts visiting theatre productions and concerts year-round and is operated by Znojemská Beseda.
