Concrete Utopias

"Concrete was used in ancient Rome..." No, don't expect that kind of documentary from this idiosyncratic filmmaker. The feature debut of the creator of the beloved HBO series "How To with John Wilson" uses concrete merely as a starting point for a unique observation of urban life. Wilson latches onto every amusing and stimulating element he encounters, making the film a fascinating stream of not just ideas, but also encounters and stories.
