XIII. STOLETÍ

XIII. Century is a Czech band playing gothic rock. According to frontman Petr Štěpán, the band distances itself from labels such as "metal-gothic" or "doom-gothic" and similar categories. The group was formed in 1990 from the punk band HNF (Heroes of the New Front), and two years later released their debut album Amulet. They are also popular in Poland.

In various line-ups, the band has recorded ten studio albums, two live recordings (Nocturno, Live in Berlin), and three compilations (Karneval, 2CD Ritual, 3CD Horizont události). The album Horizont události includes the band's compositions and new tracks Faust and Bohové na strojích, as well as Petr Štěpán's original work - music for theatrical productions and the electronic project Hindenburg.

For the band's twenty-fifth anniversary, the studio album Intacto was released on February 5, 2016, which according to Petr Štěpán was intended to be the band's final studio album. On October 21, 2016, the ten-album box set Pandora followed, for which the band recorded two bonus tracks in June of that year - Nový věk temnoty and Evropa.
