Laco Deczi & New York Celula

The legendary trumpeter, who has lived in the USA for many years, returns to the Czech Republic, with Benedikt Most as one of the stops on his tour.

Since entering the professional music scene over fifty years ago, Laco Deczi has been the enfant terrible of jazz, and that mark of exceptionality remains with him to this day. Against the prevailing West Coast jazz of the time, he championed explosive hard bop in the spirit of his great idol Clifford Brown. He later merged this style with Miles Davis's electric jazz-rock fusion, in whose spirit his music continues to evolve.

Laco Deczi and his band will deliver a concert of virtuosic improvisations and original compositions.

Line-up: Laco Deczi - trumpet; Petr Kroutil - saxophone, vocals; Walter Fischbacher - keys; Samuel Janko - bass; Vaico Deczi - drums.
