Clogged System
Měšťanská beseda, Plzeň
An adaptation of Irvine Welsh's short stories in a production by the Dejvické Theatre returns to screens in a remastered recording with significantly improved image and sound quality — exclusively on April 8, 2026. The live broadcast of the premiere was watched in cinemas across the country by over 33,000 viewers.
The production "Clogged System" is based on the short-story collection and film screenplay by Scottish writer Irvine Welsh, "Acid House". The characters are young people unable to escape the hopelessness of their lost existence. Welsh's texts are brutally honest, filled with drugs, harsh language, and football — beneath the dark-humorous surface lies a powerful generational statement.
"Clogged System" won the Alfred Radok Award for Best Production of 2012. Ivan Trojan received the Alfred Radok Award in the same year in the category of Best Male Acting Performance for his role as God, and was also nominated for the Thalia Prize.
