From Scratch

Do we have everything under control? How did it all actually begin? From nothing. At first we thought we could manage it, smooth out minor imbalances and missteps, traces of dysfunction, poor synchronization. We would simply pretend we had everything under control - movements, tones, light rays, floor, ceiling, our own center of gravity, an offered hand. Somewhere we made a mistake. Perhaps we couldn't have prevented it, but we can no longer ignore it and pretend everything is perfect. But what actually happened? And why are we here at all? We're replaying everything from scratch.

The dance piece unfolds like a stream of subtly escalating images - from banal shuffling and everyday betrayals to the need for mutual closeness. Two dancers meet in a theatrical and existential improvisation, their functional world crumbling in their hands.

What remains at the end when everything else fails? What survives the grotesque attempts to lean on each other? Only dancing shadows.
