Bran, a band known for its distinctive approach to music rooted in ancient Breton folk motifs, traditional dances, and sea songs, arrives with their latest album Galette complète (pronounced galet komplet). The title references a beloved Breton delicacy - a buckwheat pancake with ham and egg. "The yolk represents the life-giving sun for us, and the folds at the edges of the pancake are sometimes sea waves, sometimes sand dunes. A whole world opens up to us," the band says with a touch of irony. "With new songs like Thirst and About the Seas, we're trying to move slightly away from folk music. We increasingly enjoy speaking directly to people through our own songs and in our native language."

At concerts, Bran remains true to their musical roots - alongside newer material, they offer primarily Breton classics such as Pardon Spezed and Son ar chistr.

The band was founded in 1999 in Prague by Dewi Pajot, a native of Lorient in Brittany. The group's name means raven in Breton, a messenger of news in Celtic legends. The band performs as: Robert Fischmann - vocals, flute, whistle, keyboards; Vojtěch Jindra - acoustic guitar; Tomáš Görtler - accordion, vocals; Petr Mikeš - bass guitar; Vítězslav Patočka - drums.
