The World of Numbers and Universe of Tycho Brahe

A guided walk exploring the work of Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe in Prague at the court of Emperor Rudolf II. The route leads from Pohořelec tram stop through Nový Svět to Prague Castle, visiting sites connected to Brahe's life and scientific achievements. Special attention will be given to his collaboration with Johannes Kepler and the world of Rudolfine astronomy and alchemy.
The programme will also introduce the court scholars and Prague's significance as a centre of science at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. The walk concludes by examining how Brahe's and Kepler's observations and calculations transformed the understanding of the universe.
