From Franz Kafka to Hagibor: Jewish Prague Differently — Nový židovský hřbitov, Prague

A guided walk presenting lesser-known sites connected to the history of Prague's Jewish community. The programme includes a visit to the House of Purification and an explanation of its significance in Jewish tradition. At the New Jewish Cemetery, we will view impressive tombs and recall the fates of notable figures from culture, science, and business - Franz Kafka, Yvonne Přenosilová, and Lenka Reinerová. At Marie Schmolková Square, the walk returns to the life of this women's rights advocate and her role in rescuing Jewish children.

The walk concludes with the history of Hagibor, where a Jewish hospital and old-age home once stood.

Meeting point: at the entrance gate of the New Jewish Cemetery, Izraelská 712, 130 00 Prague 3, Žižkov. Duration: 1.5 hours. Guide: Iveta Válková. Organized by: Pragensia viva - Prague City Tourism.
