Art Up Close: Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt in the NGP Collections — Trade Fair Palace, Prague

A guided tour with art historian Michaela Vrchotová will focus on Egon Schiele's drawing "Self-Portrait" and his three paintings - "Still Life with Flowers", "Dead City" and "Pregnant Woman and Death" - within the exhibition "1796-1918: Art of the Long Century". Alongside Schiele, the tour will present his teacher Gustav Klimt, two key figures of Viennese Secession and Expressionism who brought a new, provocative vision of the human figure to modern art history, exploring themes such as sexuality and death.

The tour is part of the "Art Up Close" series, which focuses on specific parts of the collections and examines them in greater detail. Each tour offers a perspective on a particular theme and places it within broader contexts that help visitors better understand the whole.
