Krausberry

KC Semilasso, Brno

Krausberry was formed in 1985 when Martin Kraus left the band Bluesberry and founded a new group – as he himself says: "It was basically a prank, after all Introvič kicked our entire band out." After going professional in spring 1987, the band recorded their first EP at Panton. According to the Encyclopedia of Jazz and Modern Popular Music, the songs "draw from modern white blues with elements of hard rock featuring Martin Kraus's dominant shouting", while humorous and ironic lyrics are an important part of their work.

The band's live performance rests on Kraus, who is called the "Czech Mick Jagger" for his constant movement on stage. The Encyclopedia of Rock writes about him: "His excellent, previously tested in many pubs, loud vocal perfectly complements his 'half-crazy' facial expressions and stage gymnastics just like the frontman of the Stones."

Krausberry have seven studio albums to their name. They recorded their first album during the Velvet Revolution – the album Krausberry contains hits like "Ohníčky" and "Náš dům". This was followed by "#### stačí drahoušku", then after a five-year break "Na větvi" (1996), "Šiksa a gádžo" (1998), "Na hrad!" (2002) and "Nálada" (2007). In May 2014, a two-disc live recording "Živě v Malostranské besedě" was released with twenty-four songs, including hits like "Starý časy", "Na hrad", "Horoskop", "Do nebe" and "Emil". The band's most recent album "Poslední nádražák" was released in 2022.
