Katarína Nádaská: Meeting with the History of Bosorky and Bosoráci

The figure of bosorka and bosorák in the light of historical and ethnological research: why did women and men who healed and cast spells transform from healers into witches and sorcerers? How did Hungarian authorities respond to accusations of witchcraft? Who could be accused of witchcraft? How did interrogations of witches proceed? Why were accused women-witches most often sentenced to death by burning in Europe? We will seek answers to these and many other questions in a lecture by historian and ethnologist Katarína Nádaská.
