Saturnin
A dramatization of Zdeněk Jirotka's novel, directed by Milan Čejka.
Director's note: "I have read Jirotka's book many times. Each time I felt as though I too loved the beautiful Barbora, played tennis, lived on a boat, respected grandfather, and admired Doctor Vlach's wisdom and humor. I too was frightened by Aunt Kateřina's rudeness and young Milouš's clumsiness.
But most of all, with every reading, Saturnin fascinated me. When you look around and begin searching for the kinds of people that Jirotka described so brilliantly and timelessly, you will find, with a bit of luck, all of them - except Saturnin.
Saturnin is different, he has his own charm that draws us in. He helps his master, is kind, understanding, and has incredible abilities. We would all like to have our own Saturnin - it takes only a little imagination, faith, perhaps courage, and each of us can discover him."
