Mýcení

Divadlo Na zábradlí presents a dramatization of the novel "Mýcení" by Thomas Bernhard, an Austrian author whose sarcasm and precision have provoked scandal. Following productions of "Ritter, Dene", "Voss", "The Showman" and "Heroes' Square", the play returns to the stage.

The story unfolds at a formal dinner among friends and becomes an ironic, biting probe into the life of high society. The speeches about theatre and art that emerge during the evening seem exaggerated - yet some of Bernhard's real friends recognized themselves in them and sued the author for defamation.
