JAZZ: Nguyên Lê Streams Quartet + Notepecker + Géraldine Cécile Schnyder: Parley
Divadlo Husa na provázku, Brno
The jazz stage of the Brno Music Marathon presents three distinct perspectives on contemporary jazz.
Swiss singer based in Czechia Géraldine Cécile Schnyder will present her original project Parley?, in which she combines her own compositions with personal themes and free improvisation. Ensemble Notepecker will perform modern jazz enriched with elements of fusion, funk, and experimentation, and will also feature tracks from their debut album Do That!.
The festival's resident artist, guitarist Nguyên Lê, will perform with his Streams Quartet, which draws from jazz openness as well as Asian, African, and European traditions and is built on dialogue and collective improvisation. The quartet features vibraphonist Illya Amar, bassist Chris Jennings, and drummer John Hadfield.
