Fiducia Photography Gallery, Ostrava

exhibition culture

Opening of an exhibition at Galerie Dole. Jitka Petrášová works in figurative painting, drawing, printmaking, illustration, and artist books. The exhibition presents her evolving world of the Gentle Ones, where humor and absurdity meet with a very concrete experience of sensitivity and vulnerability. The exhibition is curated by Petr Vaňous.

About the venue: Fiducia Photography Gallery

Fotografická galerie Fiducia was founded in 2001 by photographers Roman Polášek and Martin Popelář, in the upper floor of Ostrava's Antikvariát a klub Fiducia. One of the few galleries in the Czech Republic devoted exclusively to photography, it covers monographic shows of Czech and international photographers alongside multimedia installations and new media. The gallery deliberately makes room for young artists and art-school students, not just established names. The Ministry of Culture grant commission named it the best gallery project in the country in 2010, 2011 and 2013.
