Theatre Marathon Meeting Brno – Through 20th Century History

The theatre marathon Meeting Brno connects three productions created by Meeting Brno for different festival editions with three Brno locations that are part of the story, not merely a backdrop. The journey leads from the fragility of democracy through post-war reckoning to moments when questions of guilt, justice, and the future of a shared state are decided.

At 11:00 in the Stiassni Villa, the marathon begins with the production "Beneš in Brno." At 18:00 in the Arnoldo Villa comes "Layover" by Pavel Molka – a drama set at Tel Aviv airport in 1951, where questions of guilt, justice, and personal trauma collide.

The day closes at 20:00 in the Tugendhat Villa with the production "We'll Divide It Today," a dramatic confrontation between Klaus and Mečiar at the moment when the division of Czechoslovakia is being negotiated.
