KLEPY VR - Who Writes History

World premiere of the first virtual reality application by Memories of the Nation - South Bohemia.

The project presents a unique Jewish magazine Klepy from the 1940s and tells the story of the Jewish heritage site Kende Villa in České Budějovice. The VR video features students from České Budějovice who are also co-authors of the screenplay. As part of the programme, the song "Return of Rudolf Kende" will have its world premiere - written in Theresienstadt in June 1943.

The narrative focuses on people who spent their teenage years in the early 1940s - they had friends, embarrassing moments, jokes, arguments and dreams. In the magazine they published, called Klepy, they discussed relationships, school and made fun of themselves and their surroundings. They were much like today's teenagers.

The programme uses VR technology to take viewers into the past - and help them better understand the present and shape the future.
