Jiří Pasz - Doing Good - #Crosswise

Courage takes unexpected and subtle forms. Harder than facing danger or plunging into the unknown is doing something with little or no chance of success: confronting your own fear or trauma, deciding to improve life for others and yourself, offering comfort, embracing, admitting guilt and trying to change. Helping.

Jiří Pasz, an expert in international development and journalist, has traveled across several continents and many countries. He has documented humanitarian and development projects, photographed the aftermath of disasters, interviewed victims of war and oppression - and everywhere he encountered extraordinarily courageous people willing to risk everything for the good of others.

David runs a school in Uganda for former child soldiers and their victims. Indian nuns give hope to children in earthquake-devastated Haiti. Vietnamese theatre artists process their experience of domestic violence for themselves and others. Punk rockers in Myanmar strive to create a space of freedom. Good and brave people can be found everywhere.
