Architecture Day: Prague - Rezidence U Pergamenky

Conversion of the former Ferona warehouse complex by architects from A69 architekti studio. The project, completed in 2023, builds on nearly a century of industrial history at the site and incorporates fragments of the original steel hall - its floor plan, structure, and sections of the perimeter walls. The warehouses stood here from 1928-29, designed by architect Josef Kříž.

The new structure integrates traces of the past into contemporary urban living, emphasizing the preservation of genius loci. A compact block emerges with a new piazzetta, public, community, and private spaces, and a garden featuring industrial elements. The design is built on the contrast between the preserved structure and new volumes, whose articulation reflects the site's context and the need for diversity.
