The 1930s - Fashion from Crisis to War
A lecture on 15 October at 19:00 in Gallery ONE ONE exploring fashion of the 1930s - an era considered the pinnacle of twentieth-century elegance. In contrast to the turbulent twenties, the thirties brought a more restrained and conservative style, strongly influenced by sound film, futurism, and modernism (now known as art deco).
The lecture is given by Anežka Tara Znamenáčková, a collector and owner of the Prague vintage shop Aristokrat Vintage, which specializes exclusively in antique women's fashion from 1860-1960. She will discuss what was worn and how, the peculiarities of the era, and how accurately our modern perception of the First Republic reflects reality. Seating is limited.
The lecture takes place as part of the exhibition "1. REPUBLIC & ART DECO", organized by Gallery ONE ONE in collaboration with photographer Angelo Purgert. The exhibition includes his photographic project with a charitable dimension, an Aristokrat Vintage display featuring original antique fashion, and a Coffee Museum Alchymista exhibition dedicated to the history and culture of coffee. The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
