Architecture Day: Prague - Passages and Arcades
Sun, 4 Oct 2026 · 14:00
A guided walk through well-known and lesser-known passages in central Prague with architect Štěpán Beneš.
In the second half of the 19th century, the first urban passages began to emerge, inspired by the great European capitals of the time. They quickly became not only elegant shortcuts between streets, but also centers of commerce, culture, and social life. Along with them came a new type of multi-purpose urban palaces that combined housing, offices, shops, and cafés under one roof, fundamentally transforming the face of the historic center.
