Architecture Day: Prague - Palaces of Pavel Kupka — Toskánský palác, Prague

A guided tour with architecture historian Radomíra Sedláková will focus on three buildings designed by Pavel Kupka (1936-2019) on the left bank of the Vltava River - the Tuscan, Liechtenstein, and Nostitz palaces.

Kupka significantly shaped the appearance of Prague's historic centre through sensitive reconstructions and thoughtful interventions in the original urban fabric. He was involved in the restoration of the three palaces mentioned, the former St. Anne's monastery converted for the National Theatre, and buildings on Na Můstku street. He also developed the concept for the expansion of the National Theatre's surroundings and designed its administrative and former restaurant building.
