Architecture Day: Jihlava - Horácká Multifunctional Arena

A guided tour of the new Horácká Multifunctional Arena with architect Ondřej Chybík from the CHYBÍK + KRIŠTOF studio.

The arena was designed as a natural part of the city, in close contact with its historic core. It serves as the home stadium for HC Dukla Jihlava and as a cultural and community centre with a capacity of up to 7,400 spectators. The striking facade references the club colours, Jihlava's coat of arms, and the city's Gothic heritage. Completed in 2025, the building is nominated this year for the Czech Architecture Prize.

The complex includes a public running track on the arena's roof, Smetanovy sady park revitalized by landscape architect Zdeněk Sendler, and a corner building housing accommodation, a restaurant, a fan shop, and a gym. The hall replaced a 1950s stadium and was designed with emphasis on urban context and quality public space.
