Architecture Day: Vratislavice nad Nisou - Energy Centre: Coal Tower and Boiler House — Zauhlovačka, Vratislavice nad Nisou
Description was written before the event

An industrial monument from 1916-1918, designed by architect Leopold Bauer for textile magnate Alfréd Ginzkey. This three-storey brick tower served a dual purpose: it functioned as a large-capacity coal storage facility and simultaneously as a water reservoir.

The building retains its unique technical interior and remnants of the rail system through which coal was pneumatically conveyed into the tower and then distributed to the adjacent boiler house. Since 2015, the structure has been designated a cultural monument.

The tour is led by Petr Freiwillig, a specialist in technical heritage at the National Heritage Institute in Liberec.
