Architecture Day: Prague - House of Agricultural Education - 100 Years — Dům zemědělské osvěty, Prague
Description was written before the event

The building designed by architect Josef Gočár in 1924-1926 celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. It was created at the initiative of Czechoslovak Agricultural Academy co-founder Edvard Reich, who commissioned Gočár for the project. Gočár drew inspiration from Dutch architecture, resulting in a restrained brick structure with sculptural decoration by Otto Gutfreund.

Since its completion, the building has served as a centre for agricultural education and remains the seat of agricultural institutions today. It houses the Antonín Švehla Library, which is the world's third largest in its field. The interior preserves numerous original architectural details.
