Architecture Day: Kutná Hora - Zelenkova Villa After Reconstruction

A guided tour of the restored functionalist villa with art historian Aleš Pospíšil and collaborators.

The building was designed in the late 1930s by František Zelenka, a Kutná Hora-born architect and set designer, for the industrialist Reiniger family. They lived there until 1942, when they were deported along with the architect's family. The house then served for decades as a nursery and care facility for disabled children, with numerous additions obscuring its original character. After privatization, the first renovation took place in 1992, after which the villa remained largely unused.

The 2025 reconstruction brought the villa closer to its original period using contemporary materials. It now serves as the headquarters of the Kutná Hora Care Service.
