Architecture Day: Prague - Žižkov Rental Houses in the 19th Century

A guided walk through the oldest part of "lower Žižkov" with art historians Kateřina Lopatová and Dana Schlaichertová, who have long focused on this area as part of the Architectural Manual of Prague project.

The main theme is the transformation of the neighbourhood into block-style tenement housing during the second half of the 19th century and the phenomenon of the pavlač house - its urban role, social dimension, and gradual changes. Beyond the better-known streets, the guides will also focus on the less obvious layers of everyday life that continue to shape the character of "lower Žižkov".
