Pardubice Museum Night: Stories from the Fifties

Institut Paměti národa Pardubice, Pardubice

Description was written before the event

The exhibition "Silent Heroism" is an interactive display that takes visitors on a journey through 20th-century history. Rather than simply listening to accounts from witnesses who lived through totalitarian regimes, visitors actively participate in exploring memories. Using tablets, they can influence and shape the adventure themselves. Unconventional projections, visual and sound effects, interactive screens, and augmented reality all enhance the experience.

The inspiring life stories of Milena and Leopold demonstrate that not every hero is taught about in history class. The exhibition features stories selected from more than ten thousand interviews in the Memory of the Nation collection, united by a common thread: both selflessly helped others through their courageous actions, often risking their own safety. They wanted to make life easier for those living through the difficult 1950s.

Visitors to the Pardubice Museum Night will experience the exhibition in a special shortened format. This shortened version does not include the witness's personal story.
