The jubilee 60th edition of the Koletova Rtyně wind orchestra festival takes place in the open-air amphitheatre Na Rychtě in Rtyně v Podkrkonoší. The festival has been held since 1962 and is one of the oldest wind orchestra festivals in the Czech Republic. It is named in honour of the Rtyně-born brothers Karel and Čeněk Koletov. The event is organised by the Town of Rtyně v Podkrkonoší, Koletova hornická hudba, and the Friends of Koletova hornická hudba Club. The festival is co-financed by the Czech Ministry of Culture, the Královéhradecký Region, the Jestřebí hory Municipalities Association, the Czech Music Fund, and the OSA Music Foundation. The programme includes promenade concerts by music school orchestras in the town square, a torchlit procession through the city, performances by orchestras from across the Czech Republic and abroad, and a traditional closing monster concert. The event also features music workshops, entertainment for children, and an evening dance party. In case of bad weather, the event moves to the Orlovna hall. Tickets are available in advance through SMSticket.
