Ondřej Smeykal brings Australian didgeridoo and archaic gong to the Museum and Gallery of Northern Plzeň Region in Mariánská Týnice near Kralovice on Friday, October 16, 2026. The concert takes place in the acoustically distinctive space of the Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, housed within the grounds of a former Cistercian provost's residence. This is one of two Czech dates on Smeykal's tour - the second stop will be Prague in December. The museum has operated at this site since 1952, and the complex has been registered as a national cultural monument since 2018, creating a singular setting for this acoustic performance.

About the venue: Museum and Gallery of Northern Plzeň Region in Mariánská Týnice

The Museum and Gallery of Northern Plzeň Region is housed in the former Cistercian priory of Mariánská Týnice near Kralovice, designed by the baroque architect Jan Blažej Santini. The museum has been based here since 1952; in 2018 the complex was listed as a national cultural monument and is owned by the Plzeň Region. Permanent exhibitions cover ethnography, urban life and the baroque heritage of the area, while temporary shows and concerts take place in the former monastery refectory. The museum received the Gloria musaealis award for its permanent exhibition.
