Silent Heroism in Pardubice: Stories from World War II

Institut Paměti národa Pardubice, Pardubice

Silent Heroism is an interactive exhibition dedicated to stories from World War II. Visitors do not remain in the role of passive listeners – using a tablet, they actively influence the course of the tour, which employs unconventional projections, visual and sound effects, interactive screens, and augmented reality.

The exhibition presents two specific stories selected from more than ten thousand interviews from the Paměti národa collection. Jaryna saved dozens of Jews from deportation using a poisonous chemical compound. Tomáš Sedláček guides visitors through his extraordinary journey across European World War II battlefields. Both individuals selflessly helped others, despite risking their own safety.

Tours begin at fixed times and last 90 minutes. The exhibition is intended for visitors aged 15 and above; the content includes footage depicting violent behavior and weapons. It is not suitable for people with epilepsy or respiratory problems.
