Silent Heroism in Pardubice: Stories from the Fifties

Institut Paměti národa Pardubice, Pardubice

The exhibition "Silent Heroism" is an interactive exposition dedicated to stories from the 1950s. Visitors are not passive listeners – using a tablet, they actively influence the course of the story, enhanced by unconventional projections, visual and sound effects, interactive screens, and augmented reality.

For the exhibition, stories of Milena and Leopold were selected from more than ten thousand interviews from the Memory of Nations collection. Both selflessly helped others despite risking their own safety. Milena will guide visitors into the Jáchymov mines, from where she smuggled letters and where she fell in love with one of the prisoners. With Leopold Färber, visitors will glimpse both the partisans and the communist prisons of the 1950s.

Tours begin at fixed times so visitors can progress through the story smoothly. The exhibition can also be experienced in English.
