The third edition of the Empathic Film Festival takes place from 17 to 19 June 2026 at Kino Portyč in Písek.

The programme includes screenings of award-winning films, student showcases, and discussions with filmmakers on topics such as Alzheimer's disease, addiction, interpersonal relationships, and the impact of social media. The festival is held in a new venue this year.

About the venue: kino portyč

Kino Portyč opened in June 1990 and has been run by the Centrum kultury města Písek since 2016. The main auditorium seats 340 and doubles as a nuclear shelter - it was renovated after the 2003 floods and fitted with more comfortable seating. A second screen for 40 viewers was added in 2019, giving the cinema up to six titles on weekends. Part of the foyer functions as a gallery space, with exhibitions running throughout the year.
