Mahadeva Kirtan Project

Mahadeva Kirtan Project performs on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 7:00 PM in the Dance Hall (3rd floor) of the Brno City Council Club, Mečová 368/5. The event is organized by the Ahiṃsā Samāja community.

The project is led by drummer and percussionist Marek Žilinec and actress and singer Dominika Morávková. Marek draws from his experience traveling the world - especially India - and collaborating with musicians such as Kevin James Carroll, Hanuman Project, and the musical ensemble SOUNDS OF ISHA, which accompanies Sadhguru.

Kirtan is collective mantra chanting - a form of group meditation in which the band chants sacred words and participants repeat them. No previous experience is necessary. The space is held in silence and concentration, so organizers ask that children who are not yet interested in remaining in a calm and quiet setting for an extended period not attend. It is recommended to bring a meditation cushion or blanket for sitting, optionally a yoga mat (the floor is wooden), and a water bottle.

"Chanting is a way of getting in touch with yourself. It's an opening of the heart and letting go of the mind and thoughts. It deepens the channel of grace, and it's a way of being present in the moment." - Krishna Das

Tickets: advance 555 CZK, at the door 650 CZK.
