Josef Müller, Innovator of Brno Architecture after 1900 — House of Arts Brno, Brno

Josef Müller (1870-1934) was the nephew of the prominent Brno builder Franz Pawl, with whom he began working as a designer in 1902. He registered his own construction company in 1910.

During the first decade of the 20th century, Müller realized several pairs of similarly designed apartment buildings that responded to the contemporary development of Central European architecture. He thus belongs to the figures who brought current stylistic innovations to Brno.

The lecture by art historian Pavla Cenková is part of the cycle Faces of Brno Architecture, organized by the House of Art of the City of Brno as part of the Brno Architectural Manual programme.
