Architecture Day: Opava - On Photographing Architecture

Acclaimed architecture photographer Roman Polášek will present his portfolio and the techniques he uses in his work.

Roman Polášek (born 1967) has been devoted to architectural photography since 2008. He has contributed to more than 25 books and several web portals - the first was the Architectural Guide to Ostrava (NPU 2009), to which Martin Strakoš invited him at the time. He has long collaborated with the Opava-based Atelier 38 and has realized most of his books for NPU or Fiducia. For Opava, he photographically prepared the books Architectural Guide to Opava (NPU 2011) and Opava Interiors (Fiducia 2014), and since 2024 he has managed the OPAM web portal (OKO).

In 2001, he co-founded the Fiducia Photography Gallery with photographer Martin Popelář, where he continues to work. This year, both curators of FGF were awarded the "Personality of Czech Photography 2025" prize, presented by the Association of Professional Photographers.

Co-organizers of the event are the SAM Association, the Za Opavu Association, the Photography Friends Club, and the KUPE Cultural and Artistic Space.
