Through the Curators' Eyes: Transformations of the "Art of Asia Across Space and Time" Exhibition - Chinese Art
A guided tour with commentary in the permanent exhibition "Art of Asia Across Space and Time" at Salmovský Palace, led by Emily Young, curator of the Asian Art Collection. Before the autumn rotation of light-sensitive works, participants will explore the motifs and symbolism of Chinese embroidery in detail - specifically a Manchu-style upper robe and the embroidery "Meeting at the Orchid Pavilion".
This tour is part of the "Through the Curators' Eyes" series, in which curators discuss the parts of the exhibition they study and care for daily. Each session focuses on a selected work or theme, shares current research topics, and highlights details that are easily overlooked during a regular visit. The presentation is accessible and encourages open dialogue.
