Between Layers

Rocks, shoots, dried-up rivers, chopsticks, discarded objects, xanax, pencil...

Some sound the alarm and warn of the impending collapse of the world as we know it. Others believe that technology and science will bring solutions to all crises. Still others are gripped by uncertainty, guilt, anxiety, and helplessness. Are we witnessing a fundamental transformation, or just another story we tell ourselves to make sense of the world?

A scenic reading, rap, and movement between layers of opinions, theories, experiences, assumptions, evidence, and forecasts - this is the immersive production "Between Layers", inspired by the essay collection Anthropocentricity. What will remain of us in the layers of the earth? And what layers remain within us?

The PaNaMo Association, the BodyVoiceBand theatre collective, and the Department of Non-Verbal Theatre at HAMU present the production in November 2026 in the spaces of the Bohemian Gallery West at Pražská 13 in Plzeň. Rooms, corridors, backstage areas, and the exhibition hall become part of the scenic form - the building's architecture actively participates in the performance.

Practical information:
