Na Slatinách - Early Republic Emergency Colony

A guided walk inspired by Karel Čapek's 1925 short story, taking participants back to the era of early Czechoslovak Republic slum colonies. You will explore how the "elite" of poor neighbourhoods lived, learn about life in these colonies and why some have survived to this day. The route also includes locations where the film "Obecná škola" was filmed.

Meeting point: bus stop no. 136 Slavia heading towards Flora (stop before Slavia stadium). End of walk: corner of Elektrárenská and nad Vršovskou horou streets, within walking distance of Bohdalec stop. Sturdy footwear recommended. Terrain is suitable only for all-terrain prams; not accessible for wheelchair users.
