An exhibition of landscapes by sculptor and painter Alžběta Kumstátová, whose work reflects her sculptural expertise. Her paintings, born from lived experience, are distilled down to signs and symbols. The exhibition fills the gallery spaces of the rabbi's house and synagogue, complemented by several spatial installations.

About the venue: Museum and Cultural Space Synagogue Žatec

The second-largest surviving synagogue in Bohemia was built in 1871-1872 in Moorish style to designs by Johann Staněk; its two distinctive towers were added in 1882. After being set on fire during Kristallnacht in 1938, the building fell into decades of disrepair. Daniel Černý bought it together with the adjacent rabbi's house in 2013 and, after extensive reconstruction, reopened it in March 2024 as a museum and cultural venue. The permanent exhibition covers the history of Žatec's Jewish community and is complemented by interactive elements and virtual reality.
