Tygroo

Tygroo play brass and percussion, calling their sound drum'n'brass - but their music is more like jungle: EDM beats, prickly Balkan melodies, sarcastic rap, and unexpected musical twists. Trans pounds, subbass grinds, brass screams.

Over nearly a decade, the band has undergone a striking transformation - from New Orleans and Balkan brass-band roots through brass house in the style of Moon Hooch and Czech rap influences to their current mix of Balkan music, trap, and EDM. Despite the many influences, Tygroo still sounds like Tygroo, just not always the same way.

On their new album Eat Human, dark electronics shift into a bunker after civilization's end, where surviving another day is celebrated. Dense subbasses push trance deeper and further, brass instruments probe the edges of madness, and sarcastic rap hammers at our own human failings. The album earned the band a nomination for the Anděl award in the jazz category.

Nauzea Orchestra

Nauzea Orchestra formed in Ústí nad Labem in 2007. Their debut Meisterstück Eins (2009) was electroclash, with lyrics in German and English, built on Dada sounds and comic imagery. On the albums The Dark Side Of The Raven (2011), Dobro (2015), and Štěstí (2017), influences of slant country, krautrock, industrial, noise, and post-punk grew. The fifth album Láska (2021) and sixth release Ulož tmu are entirely in Czech.

The band today plays with Ondřej Švandrlík (guitar, synthesizer, vocals), David Kolovratník (drums), Ivo Mikšovský (bass), Jakub Švandrlík (guitar), and Klára Suchanková (violin, vocals). Ondřej Švandrlík composes stage music for Czech theatres, David Kolovratník is a visual artist and designer of the album covers for Štěstí, Láska, and Ulož tmu, and Klára Suchanková also performs with the band Bizarre Band.

The sixth studio album Ulož tmu is tighter and more aggressive than previous releases - it draws on krautrock motifs, minimalism, and post-punk energy that drives the compositions forward. Despite its darker content, the album is full of danceable grooves and youthful energy.
